Don Sao Island in Laos
Tourist trap with a large market filled with local handicrafts, opium paraphernalia, faux designer bags, and the ubiquitous elephant pants. However, our best experience on the island, besides standing next to the sign showing that we we were in Laos, was having a shot of tiger penis whiskey.

Quaint store with a great selection of sandwiches, prepared foods, and sourvenirs. It has a lovely covered porch with rocking chairs to sit on and talk about the Vineyard news of the day.
Edgartown Stop & Shop
Stocking up for the week, we set an all time record - 3 full shopping carts and nearly $800
Main Street
Art galleries, elegant clothing shops, and t-shirt shops along Main Street. However, we found our best purchases at the Edgartown Paper Store (little plastic sharks), the Edgartown Book Store (Kid version of Jaws), and Larry's Tackle Shop (fish nets for the kids)
Vermont Country Store in Weston
A nostalgic, old-fashioned general store with an eclectic collection of everything from clothing to home goods, to toys and gains. I remember about 30 years ago not being able to tear the kids away from this store.
